Founded in 1891, WVSU has 2,884 students and a low 15-to-1 student/faculty ratio and offers undergraduate degrees and graduate degrees and an affordable tuition. WVSU is located in Institute, W.Va., a suburb of Charleston, the largest city and the capital of West Virginia. With more than 300,000 people living in the metropolitan area, it's an active, exciting and engaging community, boasting cultural and historical events, music, festivals and entertainment.
Location - WVSU is located just a few miles from Charleston, the capitol of West Virginia, and within easy driving distance from major cities in five bordering states.
Size - With fewer than 3,000 students and a student faculty ratio of 15:1, students are able to learn in a comfortable, supportive environment, while experiencing the opportunities associated with a much larger university.
